The library covers four floors at the Institute in building 31 - books are kept on different floors according to their classification.

 

A guide to the classification system is kept on the ground floor by the issue desk.

Decorative arts and design, art business, art reference, social and political theory, social history, patronage, design

AB, ARC, ART, DEC, DES, FUR, GLA, HIS, INT, JEL, LAQ, MUSE, PAT, SIL, THC and more

Ground Floor

Issue desk, printing and photocopying, print journals, sales catalogues from Sotheby's and Christie's (last 5 years), books on academic writing and careers, DVDs

LIT, QUI

1st Floor

Fine art (painting, drawing, contemporary media), photography, sculpture

FIA, PHO, SCU

2nd Floor

Quiet study area, pamphlets 

Any shelfmark ending in PAM
